Ramadan food campaigns

Collaboration with Misr El Kheir Foundation

In its ongoing effort to maximize the good within the community, the Moamena Kamel Foundation joined forces with the Misr El Kheir Foundation in 2022 with the Ramadan initiative which witnessed food supplies being distributed to over 25,000 beneficiaries among underprivileged families in Giza and the Red Sea.

Organising a group iftar at our parent’s home for the elderly

The volunteers of the laboratory El Mokhtabar organized a group breakfast in cooperation with a nursing home for our families during the month of Ramadan to activate the role of solidarity events that are held in the holy month to deliver a noble message of the necessity and importance of caring for the elderly residing in the centers established by the state, caring for them and taking care of their necessary needs.

Ready meals programme

Distributing 210 ready meals on weekly bases to the neediest families in the village of Bortus, Giza Governorate.

“Etameny” initiative with the Egyptian Food Bank

The Moamena Kamel Foundation, the community partner of Al Mokhtabar labs, in collaboration with the Egyptian Food Bank, launched the “Etameny” campaign, which translates to “Rest Assured”, targeting to support female-headed households. The initiative is one year initiative in support of females who head households throughout impoverished parts of Giza. It encompassed providing food baskets to help relieve the food insecurity experience and offer nutritional and dietary diversities to deprived households. As part of the initiative, the Egyptian Food Bank contributed with a complementary educational component to enhance awareness about healthy eating practices among women to enable them to better utilize the provided food items.

Cooperation with the Egyptian Food Bank

Since 2021, the Moamena Kamel Foundation has worked with the Egyptian Food Bank to provide nutritional support to more than 123,000 beneficiaries across Egypt.

Food and nutritional support programme

Hunger and malnutrition are considered among the main global challenges facing our world today.. With increasing numbers, they remain barriers to sustainable development in many corners of the globe. It is estimated that 10.7% of the world’s population were suffering from chronic undernourishment in 2016, and this number is slowly increasing. Furthermore, Egypt ranks 54th out of 117 countries in the Global Hunger Index. This dire need prompted the Moamena Kamel Foundation to embark on a number of initiatives to positively contribute to the elimination of hunger and malnourishment.

All community programmes
